In October 1990 Unique Jewels opened at 400 W. Bay Area Blvd., in Webster, Texas. The store is run by Kim Thu Nguyen and her husband Nguyen Truong.

In 1996 Kim received her certification in GIA Jewelry Designing and GIA Advanced Stone Setting and Jewelry Repair.

"With the advances in technology we are the first jeweler in the Bay Area to be able to use a digital designing system," says Kim. "This allows us to sit with our clients and let them help us create their perfect and unique custom design. We can make changes immediately to their specifications before the final jewelry design is created."

"The most rewarding part of my day is when a customer comes to pick up ring or other piece of jewelry, and I see the excitement on their face, and everything is perfect and they leave happy!"
